Born in Durham, North Carolina, Celia grew up in an artistic household. Since she was nine, she has wanted to be an illustrator. After studying graphic design and journalism at Virginia Commonwealth University (class of 2023), she lived in Richmond, Virginia, working as a freelancer. In 2025, she moved to France, near Paris, to teach English, improve her French, and continue her freelance work. Her illustrations feature people, food, music, and travel. Celia also makes comics about how our identity is connected to a sense of place, and has self-published two comic books and made many collaborative zines. As a graphic designer, Celia specializes in type, logos, posters, and editorial design. She is passionate about storytelling and social justice, learning languages, and cooking.
